Karen Ibasco completed her master’s degree in Applied Physics major in Medical Physics under the Department of Science and Technology scholarship from the same university in 2013. She became a college instructor in the College of Science of UST and practiced her field in Radiation Oncology as a Medical Physicist in St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City. After winning the international title of Miss Earth, she participated in local and international climate change conferences, delivered environmental talks, educated both local and international students in environmental protection and joined the Climate Change Commission and non-governmental organizations such as Conservation of Ocean’s Resources and Aquatic Life (CORAL), plastic solutions and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines. In September 2019, she represented the Philippines as the first youth ambassador in the Youth Climate Summit held in the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
