Pearl is a Filipino nurse who decided to pursue her higher studies in France. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in Health and Safety (Sécurité Sanitaire in French) at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM, MESuRS lab) in Paris. She has a master in Public Health, specialization in Environmental and Occupational Health and Biostatistics, from the EHESP French School of Public Health (Ecole des hautes études ensanté publique). Growing up in the Philippines, a country that faces dozens of natural calamities in a year, had opened her eyes on how important the environment is to human life and overall health. At a young age, she was already active in environmental initiatives and advocacies. She is one of the Planetary Health Campus Ambassadors (PHCA) of the Planetary Health Alliance for 2020. Through the PHCA program, she and her friends co-founded PlaHNet France, a Planetary Health network of young leaders and professionals.
